A little boy has been reunited with his missing stuffed toy dog thanks to an Ohio Police Department's Facebook post.

The Twinsburg PD said on Facebook Thursday that it found Peanut and was hoping to find its owner. Officer April Blubaugh found the toy on a highway overpass, Fox 8 Cleveland reported.

“Until his owner is found, he will be accompanying Officer Blubaugh on patrol until 7:00 PM tonight to help keep our City safe,” the post said.

Hundreds of people shared the post and on Friday police announced the happy reunion.

“(Peanut) did enjoy his day with Officer April but was happy to go home. Thanks to all who shared this post and made this reunion possible,” Chief Christopher Noga said.

The little boy's mother also expressed thanks.

“Little Matthew decided to throw him out while on our way to the doctors,” Janie Ruscitti LaScola said on Facebook “No more toys for him in the convertible. So glad we found him... Thanks to the officer April Blubaugh.”
