PHILADELPHIA – Police in Philadelphia say a 34-year-old man has been charged in a hit-and-run crash that left a 40-year-old mother dead and six other people injured, including her husband and young son.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reports (http://bit.ly/2acHvRW) charges against George McGoldrick include involuntary manslaughter and drunken driving in the crash that killed Suryani Tjung on Friday night.
Investigators say the Philadelphia man drove his car onto a curb after it was hit by another vehicle, striking the family, before fleeing. Four people in the vehicle that struck McGoldrick's also were injured.
Police didn't immediately identify a 28-year-old woman who was with McGoldrick. They say McGoldrick was arrested after a family member he told about the crash contacted police.
It's unclear if McGoldrick has an attorney.
