The Milwaukee Brewers recalled rookie infielder Yadiel Rivera from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday to fill Aaron Hill's roster spot following a trade that sent the veteran to the Boston Red Sox.
The Brewers received two prospects in the deal -- right-handed pitcher Aaron Wilkerson and infielder Wendell Rijo -- as well as cash.
Rivera has played in 18 games for the Brewers this season, appearing at second base, third base and shortstop while hitting .204 with a .265 SLG and a .485 OPS.
He is the Brewers' No. 23-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com.
