Boy, 11, Told He May Never Walk Becomes Golf Champion

An 11-year-old boy from England, who was told he might never walk properly or play sports, has beaten the odds by becoming a junior golf champion.

Brandon Craggs was diagnosed with cerebral palsy after being born five weeks early, the Daily mail reported Thursday.

He grew up wearing orthopedic boots and doctors told his parents he would always be too clumsy to participate in sports.

But Brandon has proved them wrong by winning the Wolverhampton Schools Championship at Penn Golf Club – beating competitors five years his senior.

“His dad has always loved golf and when Brandon was 5 he would walk around slowly behind him,” his mother, Helen, told the Mail. “He had his first lesson when he was 7 and just absolutely loves it.”

After years of physical therapy, Brandon he can now walk without problems and plays the links every weekend with his dad.

“It's unbelievable to think about where we have gone from when he was just a few months old, to where we are now,” Brandon’s dad, Michael, said. “We are both very proud of what he has achieved.”
