Green parties are the latest trend catching on across the country.The premise involves gathering at a friend's home and learning how to make your green or environmentally friendly cleaners.
A group of women recently gathered in South Orange, N.J., for a green party, where participants used a green party kit supplied by the nonprofit organization, Women's Voices for The Earth. (continue)
Sample recipes:
All-Purpose Cleaner
2 cups white distilled vinegar
2 cups water
20-30 (or more) drops of essential oil (as preferred)
Storage: 32-oz spray bottle
Tip: to reduce vinegar smell, try lavender or lemon essential oil.
Creamy Soft Scrub
2 cups baking soda
1/2 cup liquid castile soap
4 teaspoons vegetable glycerin (preservative)
5 or more drops of essential oil (optional - tea tree, rosemary or lavender)
Mix together and store in a sealed glass jar; shelf life 2 years
