ASHBURN, Va. – An MRI has confirmed that Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams has a sprained knee ligament.
Coach Jay Gruden said Monday Williams is "day to day," but that rookie Morgan Moses will be ready to take over if the two-time Pro Bowl player can't play against San Francisco.
Williams sprained both his right MCL and right ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's 27-7 loss to Tampa Bay.
Tight end Jordan Reed is dealing with an injured right hamstring, and defensive line Chris Baker has a sprained joint in the upper part of the chest. Gruden didn't rule out either for the 49ers game.
Also, guard Shawn Lauvao suffered a concussion on Sunday must undergo the league's mandated protocol before returning to practice.
