Bradley Beal scored 29 points, and the Washington Wizards beat the Miami Heat 100-82 Tuesday night to hand the two-time defending champions their first loss of the preseason.

Second-year guard Beal was 10 for 15 from the floor, including 4 for 8 from 3-point range. His point total would have tied a career-high in the regular season.

John Wall had 13 points, eight assists, five steals and five turnovers for the Wizards (1-2).

LeBron James had 10 points for the Heat (3-1), including back-to-back dunks in the second quarter. The first was a reverse slam, and the second was a one-handed throw-down of an alley-oop pass from Chris Bosh that James celebrated with a lean-back primal scream.

Dwyane Wade and Shane Battier scored 14 points apiece to lead Miami.
