Connecticut Sun forward Tina Charles and Tulsa Shock center Elizabeth Cambage have been selected as the WNBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played from July 29-Aug. 6.

Charles took home her 10th career weekly honor after averaging 21.5 points and a league-best 13.0 rebounds in a pair of Sun wins. The standout center tallied 22 points and 12 boards to help Connecticut to a come-from-behind victory over Indiana on Aug. 1, then put forth a 21-point, 14-rebound effort in a triumph over the New York Liberty two days later.

That performance enabled Charles to become the fastest player in WNBA history to record 1,300 career rebounds, doing so in 119 games.

Cambage led the West with a 22.0 scoring average on 65.2 percent shooting over two games, while adding eight blocks over that stretch. The native Australian began the week by netting a career-high 28 points on 9-of-11 shooting in a win over Los Angeles on Aug. 2.

Others considered for this week's awards were Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry, Chicago's Sylvia Fowles, Indiana's Karima Christmas, New York's Cappie Pondexter, Los Angeles' Nneka Ogwumike, Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen and Seattle's Shekinna Stricklen.
