FBI agents and Michigan State Police troopers took two men into custody Wednesday after executing a search warrant relating to the death of a 14-year-old girl, MyFoxDetroit.com reported.

April Millsap’s body was found by joggers off the side of a walking trail in northern Macomb County on July 24. Local media reported on the case, but it gained national attention when it was revealed that a text message was sent from her phone that read, "Omg…I think I'm being kidnapped."

It is unclear who sent the message, and police made clear that there has been no arrests in her murder. The text message was sent to her boyfriend, who is not considered a suspect.

In the intervening days police have released a composite sketch of a suspect and indicated that they were interested in speaking to the owner of a blue and white motorcycle.

On Wednesday, the search warrant was served in the town of Goodells, approximately 15 miles west of Port Huron. A neighbor told MyFoxDetroit that one of the residents of the home being searched had a blue and white motorcycle.

"He's lived here for, like, nine years," Rhonda O'Donnell said. "And you would see [the motorcycle] parked out what used to be a four-car garage, and they turned it into an apartment. But I haven't seen it in a while and I didn't even really think twice about it."

Authorities told the station that the two arrests were connected to an illegal marijuana growing operation.

Public records show that one of the home's residents, 66-year-old James Van Callis, is a registered sex offender.

A family that lives across the street from the home told MyFoxDetroit that police had been watching the home for a couple days and had asked to stake out the property from their driveway the night before the warrant was served.

The Detroit Free Press reported that police ruled the death a homicide, but have not released details on her death. The paper said police declined to comment on news reports that the girl was beaten.
