Fox may have given "The X Factor" the boot, but it's not closing up shop on "American Idol" anytime soon. The network has officially renewed the long-running singing competition for its 14th season.

The announcement came Wednesday when "American Idol" revealed that auditions for the new cycle will kick off on June 18 in Minneapolis, Minn.

It remains to be seen which judges will return for the new season. After a conflict-heavy Season 12, this year's trio has gotten favorable reviews. However, Jennifer Lopez is set to star in an NBC drama beginning production in 2015 and it is unclear if she could juggle both commitments.

Longtime host Ryan Seacrest is in negotiations to return to "Idol," according to Deadline.com.
