This news brings news anchor Elizabeth Vargas back to the news again. And it's bad news.

According to NY Post’s Page Six, the ABC anchor’s husband, Marc Cohn, had an affair while she was in rehab for alcohol abuse.

Multiple sources claim the songwriter Cohn – who wrote “Walking in Memphis” and has been married to Vargas since 2002 – bedded Flywheel Sports chain co-founder Ruth Zuckerman. The duo was seen during and after Vargas’ rehab stint.

The 51-year-old Vargas famously announced last fall she was seeking treatment for alcohol abuse. She returned to the air on “20/20” in January.

According to Page Six, the TV anchor and her husband were friends with Zukerman before becoming regulars at her Flywheel spin classes.

“Marc made out he was an angel, standing by his wife while she was in rehab,” a source told Page Six. “But meanwhile, he started an affair with a mutual friend.”

The source said Cohn’s affair came to light when they were spotted having dinner at a restaurant near Flywheel’s Flatiron studio, just after his wife left for rehab.

“It was disgusting that he was with Ruth while Elizabeth was in rehab,” a source told Page Six.

A mutual friend told Page Six the allegations are wrong and insists that Cohn and Zukerman are “just friends” and that they only had one dinner together after Vargas left for rehab, the entertainment site added.

“Ruth is friends with both of them,” the source said. “Elizabeth and Marc are separated. Both are legitimately entitled to have dinner with a friend. Ruth and Marc don’t have an ongoing relationship. They had one dinner. There is no affair.”

Vargas and Cohn are not officially separated and are reportedly still living together.

A different source, reportedly close to Cohn, told Page Six, “This isn’t a case of a husband wronging a wife while she struggled with her personal problems. Their marriage has struggled for a long while, but he has been a supportive husband and a loyal dad.”

The entertainment site said Vargas was not available for an interview and an ABC rep declined to comment. Reps for Zuckerman and Cohn did not reply to requests for comments.

Vargas and Cohn have two sons, ages 7 and 10.
