Fabio Fognini reached the final with a three-set decision over Gael Monfils at the ATP Vegeta Croatia Open on Saturday.

The third-seeded Italian stretched his winning streak to 13 matches thanks to a 6-0, 3-6, 7-6 (7-3) triumph against his French opponent which wasn't as easy as it seemed from the outset. After a strong showing in the second set, Monfils rallied in the third set after being down 0-3 to take a 6-5 edge, but the 26-year-old Fognini kept his hopes for a third title in 2013 alive by winning the final two games and the tiebreaker.

Monfils reached the semis by outlasting Albert Montanes in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, 7-5 on Friday.

Andreas Seppi will take on Tommy Robredo in the later semifinal.

The second-seeded Seppi was declared the winner in his quarterfinal match after Argentinean counterpart Horacio Zeballos was forced to retire in the first set because of a strained intercostal muscle. Seppi was ahead, 6-5, at the time.

Robredo, the fifth-seeded and former World No. 5 was a straight set winner on Friday, ousting Aljaz Bedene in 6-1, 6-4 fashion.
