NEW YORK (Reuters) - New York Rangers forward Alex Frolov will undergo season-ending surgery after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the team said on Sunday.

Frolov, who suffered the injury during a 2-1 victory at St. Louis on Saturday, was playing his first season with the Rangers after signing with New York in the offseason.

Frolov, who spent his first seven seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, has seven goals and nine assists for the Rangers.
