New York, NY – Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was fined $21,000 on Friday for an illegal hit.
The infraction occurred in the team's preseason opener against the Steelers, when Rodgers-Cromartie launched himself into Byron Leftwich's head and neck as the backup quarterback released a pass.
Rodgers-Cromartie was called for a 15-yard roughing the passer penalty on the play.
The minimum fine for hits of this nature is $21,000.
