Montgomery County Sheriff Bubba Nix says authorities will criminally charge 40-year-old McCarley resident Odell Hallmon in shootings that left three dead and one injured.

Nix says Hallmon will make an initial appearance before Montgomery County Justice Court Judge Larry Bamberg Wednesday. Nix says he's consulting with Montgomery County District Attorney Doug Evans on charges.

The sheriff says Hallmon is accused of shooting and killing 32-year-old Marquita Hill and her 59-year-old mother, Carolyn Sanders, in Kilmichael, and shooting and killing 32-year-old Kenneth Loggins near Winona. Nix says Hallmon and Hill have a son and Hallmon had been living with them until recently.

Nix says Hallmon allegedly shot Marcus Brown elsewhere in Kilmichael. Brown was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. His cousin, Ty Young, says Brown is alert but in critical condition.
