A 21-year-old California man charged with trying to provide support to a foreign terrorist organization has pleaded not guilty in federal court.

Adam Dandach (DAN-ditch) entered the plea Monday in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana.

He has already pleaded not guilty to lying on a passport application so he could fly to Syria to join the Islamic State terrorist group.

Dandach was stopped in July while trying to board a flight to Turkey with an expedited replacement passport.

Dandach's attorney, Pal Lengyel-Leahu, says he will fight the charges.

Dandach could face could face up to 15 years in federal prison on the terrorism charge, and up to 25 years on each of the other counts.
