(SportsNetwork.com) - The San Antonio Spurs are expected to be without Manu Ginobili the next week or so and will play two straight and four of the next five games on the road.
The Spurs will pay a visit to the worst team in the NBA, the New York Knicks, Tuesday at Madison Square Garden and are 2-4 in the last six road games.
San Antonio went 5-1 on a recent homestand, which culminated with Sunday's 123-97 blowout of the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kawhi Leonard led eight players in double figures with 15 points, while Danny Green and Marco Belinelli scored 13 points apiece.
Minnesota was without Nikola Pekovic, Ricky Rubio, Gary Neal and Kevin Garnett.
"It wasn't a fair fight," Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. "Those guys were devastated by injuries."
San Antonio wound up with a season-high 38 assists on 49 baskets and made 58.3 percent for the game. Tiago Splitter (12), Tony Parker (11), Ginobili (11), Tim Duncan (10) and Cory Joseph (10) rounded out the double-digit scorers for the Spurs, who rebounded from an overtime loss versus Cleveland to win for the seventh time in the past eight tries.
Meanwhile, Ginobili played 18 minutes and suffered an ankle injury. He went up for a rebound in the third quarter and came down on the foot of Gorgui Dieng. Popovich confirmed afterward Ginobili will miss a "week to 10 days."
The Spurs are 16-16 away from the Alamo City and will visit Milwaukee on Wednesday. They will host Boston Friday before hitting the road again to Atlanta and Dallas.
New York is back home for two games versus San Antonio and Minnesota, and went a disappointing 1-4 on a west coast junket.
The Knicks dropped a 102-89 decision against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday and were led by Alexey Shved and Andrea Bargnani. Both foreign players scored 18 points and Lance Thomas added 144 for the Knicks, who shot a respectable 43.8 percent and committed 13 turnovers.
Phoenix, though, had a 51-35 advantage on the glass.
"Overall, I didn't think we played a bad game," Bargnani said. "We could have played a little better on defense, but we missed shots, inside and outside."
Knicks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. sprained his right wrist late in the first quarter and did not return. He is questionable Tuesday.
New York has lost 15 of its last 18 games and is 8-23 at home. It has the worst record in the NBA at 13-53.
The Knicks visited San Antonio on Dec. 10 and left with a 109-95 defeat, as Belinelli paced the hosts with 22 points. Hardaway had 23 points in that one for New York, which is 6-16 in the past 22 games in this series.
